Arts Grants

Blackburn College$20,000
To support a concert series on the Blackburn College’s Carlinville Campus in the Mae M. Whitaker Sculpture Garden.
Circus Arts Foundation aka Circus Flora$25,000
To support production of the Company’s mainstage production. This is the final payment in a two year pledge of $50,000.
Contemporary Art Partnership$15,000
The Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis served as the fiscal agent to support the shared docent program “Contemporary Arts Partnership” of the Pulitzer, St. Louis Art Museum and Contemporary. This is the second payment in a grant totaling $30,000.
Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis$16,666
To support capital and program expenses for New Art in the Neighborhood; to support the shared docent program “Contemporary Arts Partnership” of the Pulitzer, St. Louis Art Museum and Contemporary.
Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis$70,000
This is the first payment in a three year grant to support exhibitions. The total grant is for $210,000.
Craft Alliance$30,000
To support a series of regional curators and corresponding exhibits, lectures, adult learning, and school programs.
Crossings Concerts$5,000
To support the coming season of the group’s public concerts.
Dance St. Louis$10,000
To support presentation of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as part of Dance St. Louis’s mainstage series.
Historyonics$20,000
To support the new playwright project. This is the last payment in a three-year pledge.
HotHouse Theatre aka HotCity Theatre$5,000
This is the second payment in a two-year grant for general support. The total grant was $10,000.
Metro Theater Company$30,000
To support an increase in the efficacy of the company’s development program and thus contribute to the stabilization of the group. This is the third and final payment in a grant of $90,000.
Mid America Dance Company$5,000
To support local presentation and thus preservation of Erick Hawkins choreography.
Mid Sized Arts Cooperative$14,820
To support a Showcase Festival for member agencies at the Blanche Touhill Centre on the campus of the University of Missouri.
Opera Theatre of St. Louis$84,000
To support continued commission and staging of new opera work and to contribute to the endowment of Young Artists in Training. This grant is matched by a grant from the Ford Foundation. This is the final payment in a five year pledge in a $420,000.
Opera Theatre of St. Louis$100,000
Opera Theatre of St. Louis $100,000 To be paid over five years and to support equally, the annual presentation of an opera either new to, or in danger of, being lost from the canon; and the outfitting of the company’s new warehouse space in St. Louis City. This is the first payment in a total grant totaling $500,000.
Prison Performing Arts$25,000
To support the company’s central programming which provides arts opportunities for the incarcerated in Missouri.
St. Louis Black Repertory Company$33,000
To support the hire of a marketing director and executive director. This is the first of nine payments of a total grant for $200,000 to be paid over three years.
St. Louis Cathedral Concert Series$12,000
To support new programming in the 2006-2007 mainstage season.
Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra$550,000
This represents two payments in a multi-year $1 million pledge to the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra’s endowment fund. With the company’s recent accomplishments including the hire of David Robertson as music director and the promise of the continued work of the exceptional musician members of the orchestra, Trustees elected to pay the grant at a rate greater than initially agreed.
St. Louis Classical Guitar Society$5,000
To support presentation of Paco Pena as a soloist in the company’s mainstage series.
Sheldon Arts Foundation$75,000
To provide general operating and program support for the organization’s music programs. This is the first payment of a multi-year grant of $225,000.
Sheldon Arts Foundation$6,500
To produce of a music disc featuring St. Louis artists and songs about St. Louis.
Springboard to Learning$20,000
For arts programming work in public schools. This is the second and final payment of a grant totaling $40,000.
Union Avenue Opera Theatre$15,000
To support general costs and the expansion of the company’s season to include “The Medium” in the coming season.
Washington University$87,500
To support a learning lab in the schools new art building. This is the final pledge in a multi grant totaling $350,000.

Parks Grants

Forest Park Forever$100,000
To create Whitaker Island in Forest Park. This represents final payment of a multi-year grant of $250,000.
Ivory Perry Park$6,000
Summer concert series in Ivory Perry Park.
Missouri Botanical Garden$90,000
To support the 2005 calendar year season of the Whitaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. This is the second payment in a two year grant of $180,000.
Project for Public Spaces$5,000
Joint sponsorship of a conference with Project for Public Spaces.
Tower Grove Park$25,000
Salary support for Development Director. Second and final payment of a $60,000 grant.
Frank Lloyd Wright House at Ebsworth Park$25,000
This grant matches other funds raised by the board to create a more efficient egress to the home. The total grant is for $50,000.
Gateway Greening$37,500
To support Gateway Greening’s general programming. This is the second payment in a three-year pledge for $113,000.
Grace Hill Neighborhood Services$10,000
Celebration and re-enactment of freedom crossing of slaves at Mary Meachum Park.
