Arts & Parks Grant Application Process & Deadlines
Application Process
How to Apply
Applicants are required to call Foundation staff at 314-241-4352. Staff will review eligibility, discuss the request and if eligible, grant access to an online application form.
Please note that Whitaker Foundation funds may not be used for galas, fundraisers, or regranting to other organizations. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals. Currently, the Foundation is focused on program grants and does not support general operating or capital campaigns.
Letter of Inquiry
All applications begin with a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Once the LOI is submitted, the Foundation will respond with notification of receipt. Please retain log-in and password information; they are specific to the organization, not the request.
Letter Review
Trustees review LOIs at scheduled meetings three times a year, and select applications to go on to full proposals. Applicants will be notified of Trustees’ decisions via email. If a full proposal is invited, the agency will receive application instructions.
Full Proposal
Full proposals are required to include concrete program information including a detailed narrative, budget, dates, personnel and an evaluation plan. Some fields from the LOI will automatically transfer to the application.
Proposal Review
Applicants will be notified of Trustees’ decisions via email.
